Caitlin graduated from MIT with an S.B. in Materials Science and Engineering and Applied Mathematics. Her undergraduate thesis work in the Rubner-Cohen group led to the development of novel hydrogen-bonded polymeric thin films for biomedical applications, and she worked concurrently with Professor Lorna Gibson to investigate the mechanical properties of cricket wings. Caitlin began her doctoral research in the Hawker Group in Fall 2014.
