Biography

Alex attended Tsinghua University in China, where he conducted research with Prof. Lei Tao on one-pot synthesis of polymer brushes and development of novel polymeric adhesives via Biginelli reaction. Funded by Tsinghua Xuetang Program, he participated in an International Summer Research Program at Imperial College London in the summer of 2014. Under the supervision of Prof. Andrew Livingston, he worked on PEG synthesis, modification and characterization. In July 2015, Alex graduated as an Outstanding Graduate of Tsinghua University and an Outstanding Graduate of Beijing, with a B.S. in Chemistry. Alex received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara in 2019.
